Our Franciscan expression embraces the charism of both Francis and Clare, weaving together contemplative and active service.

Gathered together as a community in Sacramento, California, we find expression in varied states of life– women and men called to be celibate, those with spouses, partners, families and those who are single but not called to the celibate life.  We are moving toward the option of a communal life, adapted as needed for our particular situation.

We are a Sacramental community centered around the Eucharist, and as our name indicates, we are ecumenical in nature– inviting all those who hear the call to live a life in the Franciscan-Clarian spirit.

We meet regularly for prayer and study and invite you to join us.  Please contact us for more information.

Saturday, October 4th
11:30-1:00pm – Sacramento SPCA

Each year in early October, millions of people around the world have their pets blessed during an annual blessing of the animals ceremony. The event is held in celebration of the Patron Saint of Animals, Saint Francis of Assisi, and his love for all animals.
The Blessing of Animals will take place at the Sacramento SPCA, 6201 Florin-Perkins Road, Sacramento.  People of all faiths are invited to bring their pet(s). The event is free and will take place on the promenade in front of the Sacramento SPCA Adoption Center. Dogs must be on leash while cats and other small animals must be in a carrier.  A pet food donation to the local pet food pantry is encouraged.
This is the second blessing of the animals the Sacramento SPCA has hosted with the Ecumenical Order of Saints Francis and Clare. For additional information, please call the SPCA at (916) 504-2847.
In addition, at 4pm that same afternoon of Saturday, October 4th, the Sisters and Brothers of the Community will take part in an interfaith Blessing of Animals hosted by Good Shepherd Parish and Community Lutheran Church at 920 Drever Street, West Sacramento, California.
Please pass on the information above to anyone you feel would be interested.  Pets and animals of all kinds are welcome!
